What does the index show?
The BIST 100 tracks a selected group of large and liquid companies on Borsa Istanbul. A rising index does not mean every constituent moves in the same direction or magnitude.
Weights and sectors
Larger companies and sectors can have more influence on index performance. Banking, industrials, transportation and holdings may dominate different market phases.
Nominal and real returns
Evaluate index performance alongside inflation, currency moves and dividends. A price index and a total-return index do not produce the same result.
